Peel Footlights Youth Theatre is a theatrical
group run specifically for children in and around the Peel area.
The aim of the group is to create unique theatre (as opposed to
"amateur dramatics") Two sessions per week are held at the
Philip Christian Centre, Peel. The sessions develop an
understanding of stagecraft, increase confidence, develop
creativity, improve team skills ... and children have a great
deal of fun in the process!
Sessions for children aged over 8 are held on Tuesdays 4pm to
6pm, and early years (ages 6 to 8) run on Thursdays 4pm to 6pm.

Movement
and control
Mime
Theatrical dance
Improvisation skills
Scripting from improvisation
Approaches to scripted drama
Stage
design
Stage
management
Sound-tracking
Costuming and make-up
Membership is £50 per
six-week term with discounts for siblings. This covers tutor
fees, hire of premises, performance licences, costumes, props &
equipment and insurances.
Classes work towards performances in front of an audience, and
both groups aim to stage two performances per year.
